BISP Waseela-e-Sehat 2025: Cash Support for Pregnant Women Begins

21 June, 2025 18:21

To improve maternal and child health across Pakistan, the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has launched the Waseela-e-Sehat 2025 initiative. This program provides quarterly cash assistance to pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and children under the age of two. The goal is to reduce malnutrition and encourage regular health checkups to prevent serious health issues.

Waseela-e-Sehat is a conditional cash transfer scheme under BISP, focused on maternal care and child nutrition. Beneficiaries can receive between Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 2,500 every three months, provided they meet the program’s conditions like antenatal and postnatal checkups, growth monitoring, and registration at designated health centers.

To qualify, a woman must be a registered BISP Kafalat beneficiary with a valid CNIC and be either pregnant or nursing a child under two. Participants must visit registered public health centers and complete biometric verification for enrollment. Payments will be made through BISP Retailers, HBL Konnect, or biometric centers.

The 2025 payment schedule begins on March 15 and continues quarterly. Missing a required checkup may delay or cancel the payment.

While this program is different from the Ehsaas Nashonuma initiative, eligible women can receive support from both. Men may assist with registration, but only the woman’s CNIC and thumbprint are used for final verification.
