Railway Station Gets Escalator Upgrade – Opening Date Announced

Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi visited Lahore Railway Station and the Mughalpura Carriage Shop on Friday to review ongoing development work.

During his inspection at the station, the minister checked on the progress of the new escalator installation. He directed authorities to ensure the escalators are fully functional and available to passengers by June 25. He also evaluated cleanliness standards and the quality of food served, stressing the need to maintain high-quality services for travelers.

Speaking to journalists, Abbasi said, “The government is committed to improving facilities for passengers,” and confirmed that more upgrades are planned in the near future.

The minister later visited the Mughalpura Carriage Shop, where he examined newly delivered air-conditioning units meant for passenger coaches. He instructed railway officials to speed up the installation process, particularly to ensure better comfort for passengers during the summer. He emphasized, “All amenities included in tickets must be provided without compromise.”

This visit highlights the government’s ongoing efforts to modernize Pakistan Railways and improve the overall passenger experience.
