The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a special facility for citizens who have either lost their chip-less CNICs or have cards that have expired.
According to a recent notice, “citizens whose chip-less CNICs have either expired or been misplaced can now apply for renewal for an ID card with additional features at a discounted fee.”
This limited-time initiative is part of NADRA’s effort to encourage the public to upgrade to smart ID cards that offer better security and data features. Citizens are urged to visit their nearest NADRA office to avail the offer.
CNIC Upgrade Fee Structure
NADRA is offering three service options for the upgraded ID card renewal, depending on the urgency:
- Normal Service – Rs400, processing time: 15 working days
- Urgent Service – Rs1,150, processing time: 12 working days
- Executive Service – Rs2,150, processing time: 6 working days
This facility is valid for all types of CNIC-related updates including expired chip-less cards, lost identity cards, and modifications in personal information.
NADRA has encouraged the public by stating, “NADRA urges the public to take advantage of this opportunity and visit their nearest NADRA center at the earliest.”
