PM Shehbaz Vows to Eradicate Drug Abuse in Pakistan on International Day

Shehbaz urges unity, sacrifice and solidarity in Eid message
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the Government of Pakistan is fully committed to fighting drug abuse and drug smuggling.
In his message for the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, which is observed on June 26 every year, he said that the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) is working hard to stop this problem. However, he added that this fight needs the support of everyone – individuals, families, communities, and the whole society.
The prime minister said that drug use causes serious harm. It affects health and also damages the reputation of the person and their family. He stressed that young people must be made aware of the dangers of drugs so they can stay safe. He also said that people who are already affected need proper treatment and support to recover. The government, civil society, and families must work together to help them.
This year’s theme is “Breaking the Chain: Prevention and Recovery for All.” The prime minister said this reminds us that drug abuse is a global issue and needs international cooperation. He also praised the hard work and sacrifices of law enforcement agencies who have risked their lives to fight drug networks. He ended his message by saying that Pakistan is fully committed to creating a safe and drug-free future for everyone.
