Major oil and gas reserves found in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Pakistan Oilfields Limited (POL) has discovered a large amount of oil and gas in the Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as reported by media on Friday.

The discovery was made after drilling 3,887 meters deep in the Makori Well, located in the Tall Block area of Karak. POL found 22.1 million cubic feet of gas per day and 2,112 barrels of crude oil per day. This is a big step forward and could help reduce Pakistan’s oil and gas shortage.

POL said that within the next two months, they will begin work to connect the well to the main pipeline system so that the oil and gas can be supplied across the country. This discovery will help Pakistan meet its energy needs, support the local economy, and shows that Karak and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are rich in natural resources.

POL also informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) about this major find through an official notice. This discovery is seen as a positive development for Pakistan’s energy future.
