The commissioning parade of the 123rd Midshipman and 31st Short Service Commission Course was held at the Pakistan Naval Academy Karachi, reflecting the glorious naval traditions.
Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir attended the event as the chief guest. On arrival at the Naval Academy, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf welcomed the chief guest.
The commissioning term of the 123rd Midshipman and 31st Short Service Commission Course consisted of 127 Midshipmen, including 19 from Bahrain, 4 from Iraq, and 2 from the State of Palestine. In addition, 23 cadets from the Short Service Commission Course were also part of the commissioning term.
Addressing the parade, the chief guest congratulated the commissioned officers and their families.
He appreciated the Naval Academy for providing quality training to cadets from Pakistan and friendly countries. The chief guest said that the Pakistan Naval Academy has been providing excellent professional training to cadets from friendly countries.
The presence of cadets from Bahrain, Iraq, the State of Palestine, the Republic of Djibouti, and the Republic of Turkey in today’s commissioning parade is a testament to the high standards of training at the Pakistan Naval Academy.
Furthermore, highlighting the professional capabilities of the Pakistan Navy, the chief guest said that as a major regional naval power, the Pakistan Navy’s efforts to ensure the security of global sea lines of communication have been long-standing.
Highlighting the recent tensions between Pakistan and India, he said that during Operation Banyan Marsus, the Pakistani armed forces demonstrated a prompt and decisive response against an enemy many times larger in numbers.
This action is clear evidence that Pakistan is fully prepared and committed to protecting its national integrity and sovereignty.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Commandant Pakistan Naval Academy Commodore Tsawar Iqbal highlighted the salient features of the academic and professional training of cadets at the academy.
He appreciated the role of the Naval Academy in producing officers with strong faith, character, and unwavering devotion to the motherland.
Later, the chief guest distributed prizes among the cadets who showed outstanding performance. Midshipman Abdul Rehman was awarded the Sword of Honor for his overall best performance.
While Midshipman Shayan-e-Hashmat received the Academy Dirk. Officer Cadet Muhammad Uzair Abbas was awarded the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Gold Medal, while Officer Cadet Chaudhry Muhammad Aizaz Tahir of the SSC course was awarded the Commandant Gold Medal. The professionalism banner was awarded to the Quarter Deck Squadron.
The ceremony was attended by a large number of foreign delegates, government officials, officers of the Pakistan Navy and other defense forces, and families of the commissioning officers.
