Crackdown on Illegal Constructions
Peshawar: The KP government has decided to take strong action against encroachments on the banks of the Swat River.
On the instructions of the Chief Minister of KP, a meeting was held in Swat under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, which was attended by provincial ministers, the Chief Minister’s spokesperson, MPAs, and senior government officers.
The meeting sought an explanation from the SP regarding the absence of police at the accident site and also decided to take action against those responsible.
Sources said that it has been decided to purchase drones to deliver life jackets and ropes in flood situations, and orders have been issued to eliminate encroachments indiscriminately at various places, including the Swat River.
In addition, it has been decided to immediately stop legal and illegal soil extraction activities along the riverbank and to immediately demolish hotels built without permission.
The chief minister’s spokesperson said that it has been decided to take strong action against encroachments on the banks of the Swat River, under which the district administration has been directed to immediately demolish illegal constructions along the river.
According to the spokesperson, it has been decided to register all hotels on a permanent basis.
