The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a new initiative allowing individuals to voluntarily correct any false information on their Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs). Whether the incorrect data was provided knowingly or unknowingly, NADRA now offers a chance for citizens to report such cases without fear.
In a public notice, NADRA announced that those who come forward on their own will be granted legal protection. “Individuals who come forward voluntarily will be granted legal protection,” the authority stated, encouraging citizens to correct identity-related discrepancies. However, NADRA warned that anyone who fails to disclose false information could face legal consequences.
The goal of this campaign is to promote accurate identification, which is essential for national security and smooth delivery of public services. It also forms part of NADRA’s broader plan to improve its identity verification systems.
“NADRA is urging citizens to take advantage of this opportunity and approach their nearest registration center to report any incorrect details voluntarily.”
In addition, NADRA has also rolled out a special offer for those who have lost their chip-less CNICs or have expired ones. Citizens can now apply for a modern, feature-rich ID card at a discounted fee.
The updated fee structure for renewing CNICs is:
- Normal Service: Rs400 (15 working days)
- Urgent Service: Rs1,150 (12 working days)
- Executive Service: Rs2,150 (6 working days)
This offer applies to all requests, including expired or lost CNICs and updates to personal information. NADRA has urged people to visit their nearest center to benefit from this limited-time facility.
