Pakistan Denies Threat to US, Highlights India’s Expanding Nuclear Capabilities

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has strongly denied recent claims suggesting it poses a ballistic missile threat to the United States. Officials and analysts dismissed the rumors, calling them “illogical and misleading.” Pakistan has no reason to target the US, which remains one of its most important economic and diplomatic partners.
The US is Pakistan’s largest export market and plays a key role in supporting Pakistan through international financial institutions. Millions of Pakistanis live and work in America, regularly sending money back home. These remittances are a lifeline for Pakistan’s economy. Experts say it makes no sense for Pakistan to harm relations with a country that continues to support its growth and stability.
Pakistan’s missile program, they added, is focused only on maintaining peace in the region. The country’s longest-range missile so far is the Shaheen-III, with a range of 2,750 kilometers. This shows that Pakistan’s defense policy is centered around India, not any other global power. “Pakistan is not in any arms race,” a senior defense analyst said. “Our policy is based on credible minimum deterrence.”
Officials have now urged international media and think tanks to shift their attention to India’s fast-growing and aggressive nuclear program. India has tested Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs) like Agni-V and has two nuclear-powered submarines that can launch missiles. These steps prove India’s ambitions go beyond South Asia. With the world’s largest unsafeguarded nuclear program among developing countries, India poses a greater risk to global peace than many realize.
Pakistan called on global watchdogs to stop spreading false Indian propaganda that lacks any technical evidence. Officials believe these stories are aimed at damaging the improving relationship between Pakistan and the United States. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also stated that Pakistan wants peace and regional stability, not conflict.
Pakistan continues to act as a responsible nuclear state and urges India to do the same. Experts say ignoring India’s dangerous developments could have serious consequences for international security, especially for Western countries that are currently not seeing India as a potential risk.
