Tremors from a 5.5 magnitude earthquake were felt in Balochistan’s Musa Khel district and nearby regions, leading to damage to several houses and injuries to three individuals as some buildings collapsed.

According to the Seismological Center, the quake originated at a depth of 28 kilometers, with its epicenter located 56 kilometers northeast of Musa Khel. Local officials reported that damage assessments are currently underway, while the injured have been transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

Meanwhile, Karachi has experienced a series of tremors since June 2, with a total of 57 earthquakes recorded. These minor quakes were felt in areas including Malir, Saudabad, Landhi, Port Qasim, Shah Latif, Bhains Colony, Sherpao, and Quaidabad.

Speaking to the media in Karachi, Chief Meteorologist Amir Haider Laghari linked the repeated seismic activity to unregulated construction. He emphasized the need for a dedicated building authority, particularly for construction projects in fault line-prone areas of the city.
