How to Check Your Electricity Meter Reading with Power Smart App

The Government of Pakistan has introduced a new app called Power Smart under the initiative “Apna Meter Apni Reading” to help electricity users avoid overbilling and manual meter reading errors. This digital solution is designed to make bill calculation easier and more accurate.

What is the Power Smart App?

Developed by the Power Information Technology Company (PITC), the app allows users to submit their electricity meter readings directly. If both the consumer and the meter reader submit data, “the lower reading will be accepted”—ensuring the consumer isn’t charged unfairly. This feature especially benefits protected users who consume less than 200 units per month and want to stay within the subsidized rate.

How to Download the App

The Android version is available on the Google Play Store. Users can download it by searching “Power Smart App Apna Meter Apni Reading.”
For iOS, availability is uncertain. However, “users can search for ‘Power Smart’ or ‘Apna Meter Apni Reading App iOS’ on the Apple App Store,” though listings may vary.

How to Use the App

1. Download and install the app.
2. Register using your CNIC, mobile number, and electricity bill reference number.
3. Choose your electricity company (e.g., LESCO, FESCO, MEPCO, IESCO).
4. Take a clear photo of your meter reading.
5. Upload it through the app “before the due date.”

Additional Services

The app also offers options like bill estimates, consumption tracking, due date extensions, and applying for new connections or meter changes.

Availability

Currently, the app is available for Phase I meters across Pakistan, excluding K-Electric areas. iOS users should stay alert for updates about the app’s availability in the Apple App Store.
