Lahore: A no-confidence motion against the chairmen of four opposition standing committees in the Punjab Assembly was successful.
A no-confidence motion was moved against the chairmen of four opposition standing committees in the Punjab Assembly, which was successful.
Chairman Literacy Ansar Iqbal, Chairperson Special Education Saima Kanwal, Chairman Colonies Ahsan Ali, and Chairman Management and Professional Development Rai Murtaza were removed from office after a vote of no confidence was brought against them.
The chairmen of all four standing committees belong to the PTI, and notices have been issued to remove the chairmen of four standing committees from their positions.
Now the elections for new chairmen of the standing committees will be held again.
A motion of no confidence has also been submitted against 2 more standing committee chairmen, while a motion of no confidence is also likely to be brought against the chairmanship of the remaining 7 opposition standing committees.
A reference against opposition members will also be sent to the Election Commission before the next assembly session.
