ATM Machines to Be Installed at Railway Stations Across Pakistan

Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi has announced several new initiatives aimed at improving railway services and passenger facilities across the country. Speaking to the media, the minister confirmed that “ATM facilities will be ensured at all railway stations in the country”, although no exact timeline has been shared for their installation.

In addition, the railway stations in Taxila, Rawalpindi, and Lahore will be upgraded to international standards. The improvements come under the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who has urged for rapid digitization in the railway sector.

Hanif Abbasi highlighted that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched several development projects in Rawalpindi, and that Wi-Fi services will soon be made available at 40 railway stations.

In a step toward modernization, Pakistan Railways has also launched a new mobile application called “Track My Train”, replacing the old Pakistan Railway Tracking System. The new app provides real-time tracking, showing live train locations, upcoming stations, and expected arrival times. According to railway officials, the app has been introduced in response to public demand for better digital services and aims to improve transparency and convenience in train travel.

With these digital upgrades and the upcoming ATM installations, Pakistan Railways is moving toward a more passenger-friendly and tech-savvy future.
