Islamabad – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari criticized the Taliban government for failing to uphold its commitments under the Doha Agreement.
Speaking at an event in Islamabad, he warned that these broken promises of the Taliban are contributing to regional instability and called on the Afghan interim government to fulfill its obligations.
He underscored that terrorism is a global issue, stressing that Pakistan has endured significant human and financial losses in its ongoing battle against it.
He added that Pakistan is conducting robust operations against terrorist elements and commended the armed forces for their effective role in counterterrorism efforts over the past two decades. Citing key military operations such as Zarb-e-Azb and Radd-ul-Fasaad, Bhutto said these campaigns have “broken the back of terrorists.”
He also pointed to the modern challenge of digital propaganda, describing it as a complex front in today’s fight against extremism.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s stance, Bhutto declared, “Pakistan never invited terrorism, but when it arrived, we did not bow down; instead, we fought.” He added that “surrendering is not in Pakistan’s dictionary” and called on the international community to respect Pakistan’s passport, sacrifices, and unwavering resolve.
Addressing regional issues, he urged India to learn from Pakistan’s capabilities in combating terrorism and expressed a willingness to collaborate. “Let’s talk about Kashmir, water, and terrorism,” he proposed.
