02 July, 2025 19:56

Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi, who is imprisoned in Kot Lakhpat Jail, has presented his party with a new political formula for negotiations.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi has advised the PTI to continue resistance along with negotiations.

In an informal conversation with journalists at Kot Lakhpat Jail, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the final decision on the talks will be taken by the founding PTI, and we also want talks to be held only with the ruling circles. However, he also said that politics is the job of political parties.

He said that if the ruling circles have made it clear, then we will talk about negotiations with politicians. Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that before the negotiations, we should get unhindered access to the founder of PTI so that we can inform him about our point of view and get his information.

Shah Mehmood said that I have 42 years of experience in politics. We want to talk, but if there is no response from the front, then the only option left is to protest. Talks are only after serving two years in prison.

He said that the prisoners of Kot Lakhpat Jail are of the unanimous opinion that talks should be held. The PTI leader further said that I will not name the government figure with whom we should talk now because there is a time for everything, timing is very important in politics, when the right time comes, I will tell you who we should talk to.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi further said that a person in jail has limited knowledge, we do not know what is happening on the ground, Barrister Gohar and Salman Akram Raja should come and meet us and inform us about the ground realities.
