Saudi Arabia Commends PM Shehbaz Sharif for Promoting Regional Peace

Islamabad – Saudi Arabia has commended Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his government for their positive role in fostering peace and stability in the region.

The recognition came during a meeting in Islamabad between PM Shehbaz and Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, where both sides discussed bilateral relations, regional dynamics, and global cooperation.

Prime Minister Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan’s strong respect and affection for King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, referring to them as esteemed leaders of the Muslim world.

Shared commitment to peace

Citing his recent conversation with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on June 24, the Prime Minister praised Saudi Arabia’s influential role in promoting peace throughout the Middle East. He also acknowledged the Kingdom’s involvement in facilitating a ceasefire between Pakistan and India, describing it as a meaningful contribution to regional peace.

“The Kingdom’s diplomacy during challenging times demonstrates its deep-rooted dedication to regional harmony,” PM Shehbaz stated. He emphasized the enduring brotherly bond between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, and the Kingdom’s unwavering support.

UNSC presidency and future cooperation

PM Shehbaz informed the Saudi envoy that Pakistan has taken over the presidency of the UN Security Council for the month of July—an important milestone in the country’s diplomatic journey. He expressed a desire to work closely with Saudi Arabia in this role, especially on matters impacting the Muslim world.

He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to diplomacy and peace as key components of its foreign policy and regional strategy.

Saudi recognition of Pakistan’s efforts

Ambassador Nawaf Al-Malki responded by praising Prime Minister Shehbaz’s leadership and Pakistan’s consistent diplomatic efforts in promoting stability across South Asia and beyond. He reiterated Saudi Arabia’s appreciation for its strategic partnership with Pakistan and its role in fostering regional dialogue and development.

The two sides agreed to enhance cooperation across political, economic, and cultural domains, and to maintain close collaboration on regional and international issues. The meeting ended on a positive and cooperative note, highlighting the deep trust and mutual respect between the two nations.
