The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) has announced that there will be no electricity load shedding anywhere in the province during 9th and 10th Muharram.
The PESCO spokesperson confirmed that uninterrupted power supply to Imambargahs will be ensured on these days.
PESCO has designated 94 feeders to provide electricity 24 hours a day during the specified period.
A dedicated control room has been set up at PESCO headquarters, staffed with senior officials, to effectively monitor power supply.
The spokesperson also said that hanging electric wires along the routes of the 2025 processions have been removed to ensure safety and prevent disruptions.
Earlier, the Peshawar district administration had imposed Section 144 in Peshawar to ensure law and order during the holy month of Muharram.
According to a statement issued by the Peshawar Deputy Commissioner’s Office, pillion riding and the movement of Afghan refugees have been banned. In addition, aerial firing, hate speech and misuse of loudspeakers are also strictly prohibited.
