15 July, 2025 16:04

Rawalpindi — The Superintendent of Central Jail Rawalpindi has clarified the facilities being provided to the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), who is currently detained in the jail.

According to the Superintendent, the PTI founder is receiving all standard “B-Class” jail facilities in accordance with the law. These include proper food, healthcare, access to books and newspapers, as well as exercise and walking opportunities. He is housed in a complex consisting of seven cells with an open courtyard for walking and exercise.

Additionally, the founder has access to a bicycle and LED light for exercise purposes, along with newspapers and books of his personal choice. These facilities are not provided to other B-Class inmates.

He is also allowed to have his meals prepared by a designated prisoner, who cooks breakfast, lunch, and dinner as per his preferences.

Since his incarceration, the PTI founder has made 413 tweets, providing instructions on party affairs, the 2024 general elections, protests, government negotiations, and constitutional matters. Over the past 12 months, his statements have been featured prominently in the media. He has also engaged with ten international news outlets, including The Telegraph, Reuters, WSJ, and Fox News.

The jail’s medical team has examined the PTI founder multiple times in the past three months. All health checks confirm that he is in good health with no reported illnesses or complications.

The jail administration is committed to ensuring his security, health, and wellbeing according to jail regulations and government protocols.

The Superintendent dismissed rumors and false reports circulating on social media and by political groups, emphasizing that the PTI founder is receiving all entitled facilities without any discrimination.
