Aleema Khan Summoned Over Alleged Anti-State Social Media Activity

16 July, 2025 23:45

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), Lahore Zone, has issued a notice to Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, for alleged anti-state activities on social media.

According to sources, Aleema Khan has been directed to appear in person at the NCCIA office in Gulberg-II, Lahore, on July 17 at 11:30 AM.

The purpose of the summons is to record her statement in her defense as part of Inquiry No. 2531/25, initiated on May 27, 2025, the notice stated.

Sources claim that Aleema Khan is accused of being involved in activities against the state through social media platforms.

The notice warns:
“If the accused fails to appear, it will be considered that she has nothing to say in her defense.” Legal action will then proceed in her absence.

Under Section 174 of the Pakistan Penal Code, legal proceedings may be initiated if she does not comply with the summons.

The NCCIA operates under the Ministry of Interior and is responsible for investigating cyber-related offenses in Pakistan.
