Israel’s Continuous Violations are Sign of Impunity: Asim Iftikhar

Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar, has said that Israel’s continued violations are a symbol of unchecked aggression.

Speaking on the situation in Syria, Pakistan’s UN envoy said Israel’s repeated violations are indicative of impunity, and that the failure to hold Israel accountable has only emboldened these actions.

He stated that Israel’s actions are weakening the UN Charter and the international legal framework, and that such measures are an attempt to destabilize the region.

He noted that after more than a decade, the Syrian people are beginning to see new hope for peace, dignity, and reconstruction in their country. There are clear signs of re-establishing political and economic ties in Syria.

Ambassador Asim Iftikhar said that many major sanctions have been lifted, giving relief to Syria’s economy, and there is slow but steady progress toward national recovery. Syrian leadership has shown intent to establish peaceful relations in the region.

Pakistan’s envoy stressed that Israel’s attacks on Syria are extremely unreasonable and damaging, and that Syria needs solidarity and support at this critical time. Pakistan expresses full solidarity with the Syrian people.

He further emphasized the need to respect Syria’s sovereignty and uphold international law.

It is worth noting that two days ago, Israeli forces carried out intense airstrikes on the Syrian capital, targeting the Ministry of Defense building. Israel also conducted air raids near the Presidential Palace in Damascus.
