Punjab issues over 132,000 driving licenses in two weeks

The Punjab traffic authorities have shared a performance report for the last two weeks, showing major progress in driving license services across the province.
According to officials, more than 132,000 regular driving licenses were issued during this period. Overall, over 413,000 citizens benefited from various licensing services, including renewals and new applications.
The report highlights:

135,000 learning licenses issued.

139,000 renewals of learning and regular licenses.

3,300 international driving permits provided for people traveling abroad.
Punjab’s online licensing portal is also gaining popularity, with over 71,500 users accessing services from home. Notably, 11,000 women benefited from licensing services in the past two weeks.
The DIG Traffic said the department is working to improve road safety and is continuing its crackdown on unlicensed drivers across Punjab.

Applicants can choose license validity for up to five years by paying the required fee.
This licensing drive is part of Punjab’s efforts to digitize traffic services and make them more accessible to the public.
