KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur Arrest Warrant
ISLAMABAD – A District and Sessions Court in Islamabad has issued arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in a long-pending case related to illegal liquor and weapons recovery.
The court rejected Gandapur’s request for exemption from appearance and ordered police to arrest and present him before the court. The judge also gave him a final opportunity to record his statement under Section 342 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
The court warned that if Gandapur fails to appear and record his statement, he may lose that legal right, and the court will be free to announce a verdict in his absence. The judge stressed that the case has been pending for over 8 years, and that prosecution witnesses have already recorded their statements since May 2024.
The court has ordered that Gandapur be arrested and produced in court before July 21, 2025, and emphasized there should be no failure in executing the arrest. The judge also noted that the Peshawar High Court’s ruling does not bar this court from issuing the warrants. The next hearing is scheduled for July 21.
