PHC Nominates Governor KP to Administer Oath on Reserved Seat Members

20 July, 2025 14:49

PESHAWAR – Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court has nominated Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, to administer the oath to members elected on reserved seats in the provincial assembly.

The nomination comes in response to a petition filed by opposition parties in the Peshawar High Court, seeking immediate swearing-in of the reserved seat members. The petition, submitted to the court’s registrar, stated that the elected members on reserved seats had not yet taken their oaths and requested the Chief Justice to appoint a person for the oath-taking process.

Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly session scheduled for today began after a delay of two and a half hours. However, shortly after it commenced, PTI member Sher Ali Afridi pointed out the lack of quorum. As a result, the Speaker adjourned the session until July 24.
