Murad Saeed of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) secured the highest number of votes in the Senate elections from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), winning one of the general seats with 26 votes. PTI emerged as the leading party, winning 6 out of 11 Senate seats, while the opposition alliance secured 5 seats under a mutual seat-sharing arrangement.
On the general seats, along with Murad Saeed, PTI’s Faisal Javed received 22 votes, while Allama Noorul Haq Qadri and Mirza Afridi each secured 21 votes. From the opposition, PML-N’s Niaz Ahmed, JUI-F’s Attaul Haq Darwaish, and PPP’s Talha Mahmood also won general seats.
In the women’s category, PTI’s Rubina Naz was elected with 89 votes, and PPP’s Rubina Khalid secured the second women’s seat with 52 votes. For technocrat seats, PTI’s Azam Swati won with 89 votes, and JUI-F’s Dilawar Khan secured the second seat with 54 votes.
Polling started at 11:00 AM in the KP Assembly’s Jirga Hall and continued until 5:30 PM. All 145 members of the assembly cast their votes, with Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur casting the final vote. The Election Commission of Pakistan had set up two polling booths to facilitate the process.
