Deputy PM Calls for Right to Self-Determination of Occupied Kashmir in OIC Meeting

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar stated that the oppressed people of occupied Kashmir must be granted the right to self-determination.

According to details, while presiding over a meeting in the Security Council on cooperation between the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said in his address that Pakistan is one of the founding members of the OIC, and cooperation between the OIC and the UN is important to address the humanitarian crisis.

He said that the OIC has played a crucial role in securing peace in Libya, Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen, and other countries, as well as in efforts to secure the right to self-determination for the people of occupied Kashmir and to end India’s illegal occupation.

He added that joint efforts must be made to combat Islamophobia and that the oppressed people of occupied Kashmir must be granted the right to self-determination.

Ishaq Dar further stated that Pakistan is confident that the OIC holds a key position and that its partnership with the United Nations should be strong and deep.
