Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir Visits China, Meets PLA Leadership

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, recipient of the Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military), is currently on an official visit to China. During the visit, he held an important meeting with General Chen Huai, Political Commissar of the Peoples Liberation Army (PLA).

Upon arrival at the PLA headquarters, Field Marshal Munir was warmly received and presented with a guard of honor in a show of high respect and military protocol.

In their meeting, Field Marshal Munir and General Chen Huai engaged in a comprehensive discussion on strengthening defense and security cooperation between Pakistan and China. The talks highlighted the shared commitment of both nations to regional peace, strategic collaboration, and long-term military partnership.

This visit underscores the deep-rooted military ties between the two countries and signals continued bilateral efforts for strategic stability in the region.

Earlier, the COAS called on His Excellency Han Zheng, Vice President of the People’s Republic of China and His Excellency Wang Yi, Foreign Minister of China. Discussions focused on the evolving regional and global political landscape, connectivity initiatives under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and the need for coordinated responses to shared geopolitical challenges.

Both sides expressed satisfaction over the depth of bilateral engagement and reiterated their shared commitment to sovereign equality, multilateral cooperation, and long-term regional stability. The Chinese leadership lauded the Pakistan Armed Forces as a cornerstone of resilience and a vital contributor to peace in South Asia.
