Israel-India Backed Think Tank Launches Balochistan Project to Target Iran, Pakistan

25 July, 2025 20:03

A new campaign called the Balochistan Studies Project, launched on June 12, 2025 by MEMRI, a Washington‑based think tank known for ties to Israeli intelligence has raised alarm over its true purpose. Instead of unbiased research, analysts see it as part of a hybrid warfare strategy targeting Pakistan’s unity.

The appointment of Mir Yar Baloch, a controversial activist with clear anti‑Pakistan rhetoric and ties to the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), as “Special Advisor” proves the project lacks credibility. Observers warn his online persona may be a disguise for Indian intelligence to manipulate Baloch sentiment .

Critics argue the initiative is a narrative weapon aimed at fragmenting Pakistan, not addressing genuine local concerns. It uses the veneer of research to spread separatist ideas while ignoring real issues like development, healthcare, and security in Balochistan.

This emerging alliance between Israeli‑linked MEMRI and alleged Indian handlers signals a deliberate campaign to weaken Pakistan from within. The project amplifies calls for independence without any tangible connection to mainstream Baloch voices.

Pakistan’s response must be firm. The real people of Balochistan seek peace, economic progress, and integration—not foreign‑fuelled divisive propaganda. Rejecting such projects is essential to counter ungrounded claims and uphold national unity.
