Now Govt will have access to your Private CCTV Cameras in Punjab
The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has started a new project under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz‘s “Safe Punjab” vision. This new step allows people to connect their private security cameras—like those at shops, offices, petrol stations, and other businesses—to the government’s Safe City system.
Through this system, citizens can help improve public safety by linking their cameras to a central network. When someone sends a request to join, the Safe City team checks the details first. Once verified, the person is given access to a special app to complete the process.
Only the cameras that the owner agrees to share will be added to the system. This means that privacy and consent are fully respected.
According to a PSCA spokesperson, adding private cameras to the system will make the Safe City network even more effective and help create a safer environment throughout Punjab.
