PM Electric Bike Scheme 2025: How to Apply Online, Subsidy & Launch Date!

The federal government is preparing to launch a new initiative aimed at promoting electric bikes and motorcycles to help tackle climate change in Pakistan. The Electric Bike Scheme 2025 is expected to revolutionize the country’s transport system.

Launch Date Announced

The scheme is scheduled to be officially launched by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on August 14, coinciding with the Independence Day celebrations.
“This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to a sustainable future and reduced reliance on fuel-based transport.”

Subsidy and Budget Details

The government has allocated Rs9 billion in the current budget to support the initiative.
“Each electric bike will receive a subsidy of Rs65,000, making the vehicles more affordable for the general public.”
The rest of the bike’s cost will be financed through interest-free bank loans, making it easier for people to own electric bikes.

Online Registration and Installment Plan

“Registration for the scheme will be conducted online, ensuring accessibility and transparency.”
If the number of applicants is greater than the available quota, a balloting process will decide the final recipients.

Future Targets Set

The government has set an ambitious goal to have 2 million electric bikes on the roads by 2030. In addition to that, the plan includes:

• 53,950 electric rickshaws
• 99,155 electric cars
• 2,238 electric buses
• 2,996 electric trucks
