NADRA Makes Birth Date Correction on CNIC Easier

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a new public awareness campaign urging citizens to ensure their date of birth is fully and correctly recorded on their Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs).

Why It Matters

NADRA revealed that many identity cards currently only mention the year and month, omitting the exact day. This incomplete information can lead to complications in legal, banking, passport, and other official processes.

“To avoid complications in legal matters and official documentation, individuals are advised to update their CNIC with the correct and complete date of birth in line with other supporting documents.”

How to Correct Your Date of Birth

Citizens can choose either of the following methods:

• Use the Pak-ID mobile application for a convenient update
• Visit the nearest NADRA Registration Centre with valid supporting documents

NADRA emphasized, “NADRA said it will only accept correction requests if documentary proof is provided.”

Important Warning

NADRA has warned the public that CNICs missing a complete birth date may face hurdles in important services such as banking and immigration.
