Pak-Iran foreign ministers discuss Gaza crisis
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi held a telephone conversation to discuss the deteriorating situation in Gaza, expressing strong concern over Israel’s ongoing atrocities in the besieged territory, Iranian media reported on Saturday.
According to the reports, Dar reiterated Pakistan’s firm support for the Palestinian cause and said Islamabad stood ready to play an active role in delivering humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza.
Araqchi emphasised the urgency of mobilising international organisations — particularly the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) — to take a unified stance on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
He condemned the Israeli parliament’s recent approval to formalise occupation of the West Bank, describing it as a calculated attempt to erase Palestinian identity entirely.
The two ministers reaffirmed their commitment to continued coordination on regional and international platforms to address the crisis.
