Fuel Price Relief Expected in Next Review
Fuel Price Relief in Next Review
After several hikes in recent months, the federal government now has room to reduce fuel prices, according to a report by Arif Habib Limited (AHL).
The brokerage firm estimates that petrol prices could be cut by Rs. 6.82 per liter, and high-speed diesel by Rs. 1.68 per liter in the upcoming fortnightly price review.
If approved, the new petrol price would drop to Rs. 265.33 per liter, while diesel would come down to Rs. 282.67 per liter.
Currently, petrol is priced at Rs. 272.15 per liter, and diesel stands at Rs. 284.35 per liter. On June 1, petrol was Rs. 253.63 and diesel Rs. 254.64, meaning petrol is now Rs. 18.52 per liter more expensive than it was two months ago.
The expected reduction could provide much-needed relief to consumers amid rising inflation and fuel costs.
