Who Are Komal Zubair?
After Balochistan, now Karachi has seen a case where love marriage has become a crime, as a young couple from Dalmia Shanti Nagar faces serious life threats from the girl’s family.
A video statement received by GTV News shows 22-year-old Komal and 24-year-old Zubair appealing for protection.
“We married by our own choice. It is not a crime,” Komal said in the video.
“My family has become my enemy. They have filed false kidnapping cases against my husband.”
According to the couple, the court dismissed the case as fake (C-class), but their safety is still at risk.
“We are not even allowed to go to court safely,” Komal added.
The couple has appealed to the Prime Minister, Chief Minister Sindh, and IG Sindh for immediate protection.
“If we are not protected, we might be killed like the couple in Balochistan,” Komal warned.
“My family is financially and politically powerful. Please help us before it’s too late.”
In the video, Komal also reached out to NGOs and welfare organizations, pleading to raise her voice to higher authorities.
“Please help me. Don’t let another daughter die,” she said tearfully.
