Punjab offers Rs100,000 prize to motorbike owners win with simple step

The Punjab government has launched new steps to reduce smog and improve air quality, offering cash rewards and promoting green practices across the province.

Speaking in Lahore, Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb shared that citizens who convert their petrol motorbikes to electric ones will get Rs100,000 as a cash incentive. This move is part of Punjab’s Green Agenda. The full process to apply for the reward will be shared soon.

Get Carbon Credits for Using LED Lights

People who replace regular lights with LED bulbs will now earn “Carbon Green Credits”, which may also be recognized internationally for helping the environment.

Plant for Pakistan Campaign

The minister also spoke about the “Plant for Pakistan” drive launched under the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA). This is part of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s Green Punjab Vision, aiming to grow more trees and expand green spaces.

Residents of Lahore can now order free plants by calling 1399, and the PHA will deliver a sapling to their home. Aurangzeb called it a gift from the Chief Minister.

• 300,000 trees will be planted around Lahore Ring Road.

• Seven modern air quality monitors are already active in Lahore.

• Punjab’s first “Smog Gun” will be introduced today.

• A new Fire Control Force will be formed to handle smog-related fires in cities.

Marriyum Aurangzeb urged people to join the campaign by planting more trees, saying that public support is key to making Punjab cleaner and greener.
