Subject: Problems Faced by Citizens After Heavy Rain

Respected Sir/Madam,

Through your respected newspaper, I would like to draw attention to the serious problems people are facing after the recent heavy rain in our city. The rain has affected daily life, transport, health, and even safety, and many citizens are struggling to manage their normal routines.

After every heavy rainfall, our streets get completely flooded. Roads are filled with water and mud, which makes it very difficult for people to go to work, school, or hospital. Public transport gets delayed, and those who walk or ride motorcycles have to pass through dirty and dangerous water.

Another major problem is the blockage of drains. Because of poor drainage systems, water stands for many hours or even days. This dirty water becomes a breeding ground for mosquitoes, which can cause diseases like dengue and malaria.

People living in low-lying areas suffer the most. Their homes get filled with rainwater, damaging their furniture, clothes, and food items. Some poor families even lose everything. Children cannot go to school and workers lose their daily wages.

Electricity is also cut off during and after the rain. Long power outages add to the stress of the people. In some areas, fallen electric poles and open wires also become dangerous and have caused serious accidents.

I request the city administration to please take quick and proper action to solve this issue. We need better drainage systems, regular cleaning of gutters, and flood management plans. Citizens should not suffer again and again during every rainy season.
