Sheikha Asma Al Thani Successfully Summits Gasherbrum I

Askole – Sheikha Asma Al Thani has announced the successful completion of her latest mountain expedition – Gasherbrum I, also known as Hidden Peak.

The mountain is located on the border between Pakistan and China, and stands at 8,080 meters above sea level. It is the 11th-highest mountain in the world.

With this achievement, Sheikha Asma has now successfully climbed 10 peaks over 8,000 meters, marking a major milestone in her mountaineering journey.

Earlier, Qatari Princess Al Thani has made history by becoming the first Qatari woman to successfully climb Nanga Parbat, one of Pakistan’s tallest and most dangerous mountains, with a height of 8,126 meters.

Known as the “Killer Mountain” due to its difficult terrain and harsh weather, Nanga Parbat is considered one of the most challenging peaks in the world. Despite these dangers, Sheikha Asma reached the summit and proudly raised the national flag of Qatar.

This climb marks the ninth successful peak in Sheikha Asma’s mission to scale all 14 of the world’s highest mountains. Her achievement has earned her international recognition and a respected place among the world’s top mountaineers.

Her courage and determination serve as a powerful example of women’s empowerment and leadership on a global level. This accomplishment is not only a moment of pride for Qatar but also a significant step forward for women in adventure sports around the world.
