Pakistan-US Trade Deal to Reduce Tariffs on Pakistani Products: Finance Minister
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has announced that a trade agreement has been successfully finalized between Pakistan and the United States.
Minister Aurangzeb said the agreement aims to promote bilateral trade, increase market access, boost investment, and foster cooperation in areas of mutual interest. He stated that the deal will result in a reduction of mutual tariffs, particularly on Pakistani products, and is expected to increase US investment in infrastructure and development projects.
According to the minister, the trade agreement will usher in a new era of cooperation in energy, minerals, IT, and cryptocurrency. He added that it will help promote trade relations with the US and provide both countries with better access to each other’s markets.
The agreement, he said, signifies the commitment of the leadership of both nations to deepen bilateral relations and strengthen trade and investment ties.
This development came during a meeting between Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and US Trade Representative Jameson Greer. The agreement was initially announced by US President Donald Trump via a post on his Truth Social platform.
