CM Maryam Nawaz Congratulates China on PLA’s 98th Anniversary

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has extended heartfelt congratulations to the government and people of China, as well as the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), on the occasion of the PLA’s 98th founding anniversary.

Praise for PLA’s Role in Peace

In her message, CM Maryam lauded the PLA’s contributions towards both national and global peace, calling their efforts “commendable.”

Strong Pakistan-China Ties

She referred to China as Pakistan’s “iron brother” and emphasized that the deep-rooted friendship between the two nations goes beyond formal agreements. “Pakistan-China relations are not confined to state or defense interests alone, but are bonds rooted in the hearts of both nations,” she said.

Growing Defence Cooperation

Maryam Nawaz highlighted the ongoing collaboration between the Pakistani and Chinese armed forces. She praised the PLA’s “professionalism, modern military strategy, and spirit of national service,” adding that mutual trust and training cooperation have continued to grow over the years.

Commitment to Joint Ventures

Reaffirming Punjab’s commitment to its Chinese partnership, the Chief Minister noted that her government aims to enhance collaboration in several sectors. These include industrial development, environmental protection, agriculture, and education.
