Ishaq Dar Meets Iranian President, Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthening Ties

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, on Sunday. The meeting underscored the mutual desire of both nations to deepen their bilateral relationship across various sectors.

According to the spokesperson for the Foreign Office, Dar warmly welcomed the Iranian President and reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to its historic and brotherly ties with Iran. He emphasized that these relations are rooted in shared history, cultural heritage, religion, and mutual respect.

President Pezeshkian appreciated Pakistan’s support and reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to advancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest. He also expressed a desire for meaningful dialogue with Pakistani leadership to further strengthen the political and economic bonds between the two nations.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Senator Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Iran, pledging continued collaboration in trade, economy, and other sectors.

He welcomed the Iranian President’s remarks aligning with the Pakistani Prime Minister’s vision of increasing bilateral trade volume to $10 billion. Dar highlighted the importance of establishing mutual economic coordination, calling it a timely and welcome step to boost economic activities between the two countries.
