Strong Earthquake Tremors Felt in Islamabad, Chakwal, and Nearby Areas

Strong tremors from an earthquake were felt across Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Sarai Alamgir, Chakwal, and as far north as Shangla.

The Seismological Center reported the earthquake measured 5.1 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was pinpointed 15 kilometers southeast of Rawat, Islamabad, at a depth of 10 kilometers underground.

The sudden quake triggered panic among residents, many of whom recited Kalma Tayyiba while evacuating their homes and buildings. Although the shaking lasted only a few seconds, its intensity caused widespread fear in affected areas.

Authorities have confirmed no casualties or property damage so far. Rescue agencies have been placed on alert, and relevant officials have urged the public to remain cautious and follow safety measures.
