Karachi Power Outage Scheduled for May 22: K-Electric Announces Maintenance Plan
K-Electric has announced that 57 electricity feeders in Karachi will be shut down on Monday, August 4, 2025. This is due to planned maintenance work on transformers and other equipment.
The power cuts will happen in different parts of the city. According to KE, the shutdown will start at 8:00 AM and end by 6:30 PM. The outage duration will vary by area. Some areas may face 8 to 10 hours of power suspension.
These feeders are part of KE’s 2,129 feeder network. Only selected areas will be affected for necessary repairs. KE has shared the full list of areas and timings for the public.

Why the Shutdown?
K-Electric said this power shutdown is part of their regular maintenance plan. The company wants to prevent unplanned outages in the future by upgrading transformers and lines.
They have advised residents to make arrangements beforehand. This includes charging devices, saving water, and planning work accordingly.

To know if your house or office will be affected:
Open your last K-Electric bill
Look for the name of your feeder
Match it with the KE outage list on their official website or app
K-Electric’s Message to Residents
KE has apologized for the inconvenience. They said the work is important for stable and safe electricity in Karachi. The company has also asked people to report any emergency during the outage using their helpline or app.
