Israeli Desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque
ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has strongly condemned the recent desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque by thousands of Israeli settlers, including senior ministers and Knesset members, under the protection of Israeli occupying forces.
In a statement issued by the Foreign Office on Monday, Pakistan called the incident a “provocative and deeply offensive act,” and criticized the presence of high-level Israeli officials who declared, “the Temple Mount is ours.” Pakistan said such statements are dangerous and aimed at inciting religious tensions globally, while also trying to change the status of the holy site.
The Foreign Office stated that Israel’s expansionist actions are a threat to regional stability and peace efforts. “These provocations could lead to widespread violence,” the statement warned.
Pakistan stressed that the desecration of Al-Aqsa violates international law, human rights, the UN Charter, and resolutions from the United Nations and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Islamabad urged the international community, especially the UN, to take immediate steps to hold Israel accountable and protect the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque. It also reiterated support for the Palestinian people and their right to self-determination.
