Sindh Govt Extends Ajrak Number Plate Deadline to October 31
Ajrak Number Plate Deadline
KARACHI – The Sindh government has extended the deadline for vehicles using Ajrak-themed number plates until October 31, 2025, giving vehicle owners more time to switch to the new security-featured plates.
The previous deadline was August 14, but it has now been pushed forward following a directive from PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Sindh Minister for Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Mukesh Kumar Chawla announced the decision after meeting with Chairman Bilawal at the Sindh Assembly, where key matters like security and vehicle registration progress were also discussed.
The Excise Department stated that the new plates come with advanced security features designed to help with vehicle identification and crime prevention.
While no fines will be issued for Ajrak number plates until the new deadline, authorities clarified that all other traffic violations, such as not wearing a helmet or missing vehicle documents, will still be fined.
Citizens are urged to get their new number plates installed before the October 31 deadline to avoid legal issues.
