NAB begins auction of Malik Riaz’s Bahria Town properties
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has officially started selling off expensive properties owned by well-known real estate tycoon Malik Riaz.
According to NAB, two big properties have already been sold:
-
Bahria Town Corporate Office II in Rawalpindi was sold for Rs. 880.6 million.
-
Rubaish Marquee & Lawn, located near the Bahria Garden City Golf Course in Islamabad, was auctioned for Rs. 508.3 million.
So far, these sales have earned NAB over Rs. 1.3 billion, and officials believe this number will go even higher as more properties are auctioned during the day.
This auction was allowed after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) gave NAB permission to sell Bahria Town assets connected to Malik Riaz earlier this week.
NAB says more properties will be sold by the end of the day, and the collected money will help the national treasury.
