Gwadar Water Shortage: PM Directs Immediate Measures

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a meeting with Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, who joined via video link.

During the meeting, CM Bugti briefed the Prime Minister on the challenges related to water supply in Gwadar. The Prime Minister instructed authorities to take immediate measures to resolve both water and electricity problems in the city.

He directed the Federal Minister for Power Division and the Planning Commission to visit Gwadar on August 15. PM Shehbaz emphasized that water supply should be ensured in consultation with the Balochistan Chief Minister.

CM Bugti said planning was underway to permanently solve Gwadar’s water issues. He also called for a review and necessary improvements to the Khuzdar-to-Gwadar national grid line.
