During the program G for Gharida, Information Minister Atta Tarar stated that corruption and inflation rates in Pakistan have declined.
He reiterated the government’s readiness to hold talks with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), but ruled out any discussions related to the May 9 incidents, emphasizing that those cases cannot be labeled as political.
Tarar stressed that the government is prepared to engage in dialogue on all matters except May 9, in the interest of the country. He highlighted that during Operation Bunyān Marsūs, the entire nation stood with the armed forces, and that legal cases should be decided by the courts.
He clarified that no talks have taken place regarding the 27th Constitutional Amendment. Expressing concern over PTI’s protest calls on important national events, Tarar said the planned protest on August 14 is unacceptable and will be rejected by the public, as there is no justification for demonstrations on such significant national days.
