Trade, Investment Key Focus in Dar–Azerbaijan FM Call

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Ishaq Dar, held a telephone conversation with the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan to discuss ways of further strengthening bilateral relations.

The discussion focused primarily on expanding cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, and economic partnership between the two countries.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both leaders expressed satisfaction over the existing level of collaboration in various sectors and reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing economic and commercial ties. They acknowledged the strong diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, built on shared values, mutual respect, and strategic cooperation.

During the call, the two sides also reviewed their ongoing collaboration at multiple multilateral platforms, including the United Nations (UN), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). They expressed appreciation for the support extended to each other at these forums and stressed the need for continued coordination to address regional and international challenges.

Ishaq Dar emphasized Pakistan’s interest in boosting trade volume and attracting investment from Azerbaijan, particularly in energy, infrastructure, and technology sectors. The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister welcomed Pakistan’s proposals and agreed to explore new avenues of economic partnership.

Both leaders concluded the conversation by agreeing to maintain close and regular contacts at the leadership and ministerial levels, ensuring timely consultations on issues of mutual concern.
