Karachi to face 14 hours gas shutdown on August 14; which areas will be affected? Check here
Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced a gas shutdown in Karachi on Independence Day, August 14. Gas supply will be suspended from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, lasting for 14 hours.
Reason for Gas Suspension
The shutdown is needed because the Karachi Water Board asked for help to repair its pipelines. Due to this, SSGC must shift its main gas line in the Haroonabad Site area.
Areas Affected by the Gas Shutdown
During this work, gas supply will be cut off in several areas including Sher Shah, Site, Jahanabad, Lashari Mohalla, and all blocks of Metroville. Gas will also be suspended in Pathan Colony, Old Golimar, Rexer Colony, Muslimabad, and nearby neighborhoods.
Other affected areas include Site Industrial Area, Gulbai, Maripur, and Manora.
SSGC apologized for the inconvenience this shutdown may cause to consumers.
Earlier on August 10, gas supply was also suspended for 24 hours near Jam Sadiq Bridge in Korangi Industrial Area to complete rerouting of a major gas line.
