NADRA Launches Online Birth and Death Registration via Pak ID App

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a new online system for the registration of births and deaths, allowing citizens to conveniently access the service through the Pak ID mobile application.

With this initiative, users can now submit registration requests directly to their respective union councils without physically visiting the offices. In its initial phase, the service has been made available in the union councils of Chakwal, Jhelum, and Nankana Sahib, with plans for nationwide expansion in the coming months under a phased rollout strategy.

Alongside this digital service, NADRA has also updated its ID card fee structure for 2025. The fee for a new Smart CNIC is now Rs750 for normal processing, Rs1,500 for urgent, and Rs2,500 for executive processing. Renewal fees for Smart CNICs range from Rs750 to Rs2,500, while standard CNIC renewals cost Rs400 for normal and Rs2,150 for executive processing.

According to NADRA, this move is part of its broader efforts to digitize civic services, improve accessibility, and simplify processes for the public through secure and user-friendly digital platforms.
