Trump Meets Zelensky, Calls It Key to Ending Russia-Ukraine War
US President Donald Trump has called his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House a “very important step” toward ending the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.
Speaking to reporters, Trump said, “This was a very positive and meaningful meeting. Just a few days ago, I also had a constructive meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. We will now work together with both Russia and Ukraine to bring an end to this war and expand trade cooperation.”
Trump emphasized his desire to end the war but added, “I want peace. The war will end — it must end. But I cannot give a specific date yet.”
He also complimented President Zelensky’s outfit and used the media platform to send a goodwill message to the people of Ukraine.
Trump repeated his earlier statement that if he had been in office at the time, the Russia-Ukraine war would have never started.
He strongly criticized former President Joe Biden, blaming his administration for failing to prevent the conflict.
